Collecting, storing, using

I have no interest in collecting unnecessary information about you. I will only collect the information you provide me with and handle it with care.

As of 2019-04-01 no online database is connected to this website. Instead I store all data locally on my computer and within my backup system. Only the data that should be publicly visible is stored online at my hosting company as plain source code.

Note that if you submit anything via the forms on this site and something goes wrong, a log file will be placed on the server with the error message, your IP-address the data you provided. The reason for this is so I can troubleshoot the problem and solve it. When solved, the log file will be removed.

I am only using your personal data in the context it was intended, and I am not sharing your personal data with a third party.

Contact

When you send me a message through the contact form, an email is sent to me with the information you provided. The information will be stored within my email system, just like any email.

When you send a message, you agree to the following:

  • Storage of your name [OPTIONAL]
  • Storage of your email [REQUIRED]
  • Storage of you message [REQUIRED]
  • Having a good tone and being nice [REQUIRED]

If you don’t want me to store the optional fields, simply omit them when submitting your message.

Comments

When you submit a comment, an email is sent to me with the information you provided. I will then go through your comment manually to either accept or reject it.

  • If accepted your data is being transferred to a simple text file and displayed along with the post/page you were commenting on
  • If rejected you data is being removed from my system

When you submit a comment, you agree to the following:

  • Storage and publishing of your name [OPTIONAL]
  • Storage of your email [OPTIONAL]
  • Storage and publishing of your website address [OPTIONAL]
  • Storage and publishing of you comment [REQUIRED]
  • Having a good tone and being nice [REQUIRED]

If there is some information you don’t want me or the rest of the world to know about; Please don’t submit it. If you don’t want me to store and publish the optional fields, simply omit them when submitting your comment.

Your email address will NEVER be published. It’s only used in the following scenarios:

  1. If someone (including me) is replying to one of your comments, you will get an email notification. If you omit your email, you will not get notified
  2. If you want to delete one or more comments, your email is used to confirm the removal. If you omit your email, you cannot get your comment deleted

How to delete your personal data

To remove a email you have sent me, simply reply to one of our previous mail conversations and inform me you want to have your data removed. If you have sent me an email that I have not yet responded to, here’s what you’ll do:

  1. Send me a new email and inform me that you want to remove your data. Include the same email address you used for the email you want to remove.
  2. After receiving your request, I will send you an confirmation via email
    • If it’s approved, I will delete your data
    • If it’s not approved, I will not delete your data

To remove a comment you have submitted, here’s what you’ll do:

  1. Send me an email with the following:
    • The title or URL of the article you commented on
    • The ID of your comment (hover over your comment and it will show up in the lower right corner)
  2. After receiving your request I will send an confirmation via email to the address associated with the comment
    • If it’s approved, I will delete your comment
    • If it’s not approved, I will not delete your comment
